"My Home Away From Home"
As a visitor to Camp Lewis, you will realize that it is "Home Away from Home." For over seventy-five years Camp Lewis has welcomed scouts onto its one hundred and eighty eight acres of fresh air, less than an hour away from New York City. Camp Lewis is always welcoming and hospitable. Camp Lewis has many diverse accommodations to rent including cabins, lean-to sites, tent sites, and a dining hall. Along with the diverse rentable sites, Camp Lewis has two shower houses and flush toilets throughout the camp from April through October. Other amenities include a BB range, Archery Range, one hundred yard field, a C.O.P.E. Course (Challenge Outdoor Personal Experience), a lake, and hiking trails.
Camp Lewis is Northern New Jersey's Cub Scout Resident camp but that is not where the fun stops! Camp Lewis is a host to many of the Northern New Jersey Council activities as well as trainings including: Cub Family Weekend, Spring Merit Badge Weekend, Howl-o-Ween, BALOO Training, Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills, Cub and Scoutmaster Specific Training, Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops, and Wood Badge.
